Today there are many treatments available in aesthetics that can make a great impact on your lips. We will briefly go over each to understand what each is and what the differences are.
What Is A Lip Flip?
A lip flip is a nonsurgical method of creating a fuller lip. A doctor injects neurotoxin into the upper lip to create an illusion of a larger lip. It relaxes the muscles above the lip, resulting in the upper lip “flipping” slightly upward. Although the procedure makes the lip look more prominent, it does not increase the size of the lip itself.
A lip flip is a great starting procedure when you are starting to think about enhancing your lip look. It only requires a small injection and you can achieve great results.
Lip flips are less invasive and less expensive than lip fillers. However, they have a shorter effect than dermal fillers, which last between 3-9 months.
What Is Lip Threading?
Lip threading is also known as a lip thread lift. This nonsurgical procedure uses small dissolvable threads to smooth out fine lines around your mouth and boost collagen production.
Unlike lip fillers that add volume to your lips, lip threading adds curve and definition, primarily to the cupid’s bow area of your upper lip.
Lip threading appeals to people who want a natural look, rather than the pouty, plump look that lip fillers provide.
Lip threads typically start to dissolve slowly around 3 months but the impact can last up to a year.
What Is Lip Filler?
Lip fillers are injections that add volume to your lips. They’re a type of dermal filler.
Lip fillers consist of synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) — HA is a natural substance in your body. There are many different brands of lip fillers, including Juvederm®, Restylane® and Perlane®.
Lip fillers restore or add volume to your lips. They don’t stop the aging process, but they can help you achieve a desired look, which boosts your self-esteem.
Lip fillers typically last 9 to 18 months. However, it depends on your age and how fast your body breaks down calories into energy (metabolism). Younger people tend to burn calories faster, so lip fillers don’t last as long.
Lip Fillers still just require injections but you can achieve a modern, fuller, look with fillers such as many celebrities have.
