What is a Lip Flip?
Lip flip treatment involves injecting a small amount of a neurotoxin (Botox, Dysport, Jeaveau, Xeomin) into the orbicularis oris, which is just above the vermillion border of the upper lip.
The orbicularis oris is a muscle that helps form and shape the lips. This is what gives you what is called the ‘cupids bow’.
The vermilion border of the upper lip is a normally sharp line between the lip and adjacent skin and is where lipstick is typically applied.
In the next few days following treatment, the muscle becomes relaxed — allowing the upper lip to turn outward.
This creates the appearance of a fuller, youthful-looking upper lip. Lip flips do not affect the lower lip but some procedures can be done there too.
The injection takes less than two minutes, making it perfect for people who have a fear of needles and invasive surgical procedures.

Lip Fillers
Fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane work to treat these fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of volume in the face. Both Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid fillers, which is a naturally occurring molecule found in our bodies. HA (hyaluronic acid) helps to restore moisture and volume to the skin. When filler is injected directly to the lips and Vermillion border, it creates volume and brings back definition, leading to a fuller, poutier lip while still producing a soft, natural appearance.
